As a long serving member of the committee of body corporate no 4899 (172-176 Pacific Parade Dee Why), I am most happy to highly recommend Michael Kellett's (MTK) services re the overseeing of any remedial home unit work.

In above mentioned block which is coming up to 50 years since built, we have recently had a major work done which Michael oversaw. The work involved removing any concrete cancer on the balconies and beyond, replacing the balcony railings and waterproofing and tiling the balconies.

As the only woman on the Committee of our Strata, a $1.6 million renovation and repair job was a daunting thought, and I was very reluctant to continue with Committee duties. However, once we had engaged Michael Kelett as the Engineer for the Project I felt confident enough to be part of the team.

At no time did Michael treat me any different to the men, his explanations, photos, diagrams and his wonderful kind nature was there at all times. Available for phone calls, asking stupid questions, dealing with horrid personalities, and, the oldies that live in our Strata loved him. Available for meetings at all hours of the night, Saturdays and Sundays to meet with Committee, and generally went beyond what one would expect of the Engineer.

Theft of building materials, wet weather, numerous Companies on site continuously, nothing was a problem. The Project was finished ahead of schedule with funds left over for another project that needed doing.

Thank you is not enough to express my gratitude to Michael for all his kindness and patience, if anyone is contemplating using Michael Kelett as the Engineer on their project, do it, you will not regret your decision.

We are pleased to provide a Letter of Recommendation based on the Owners Corporation's experience working with Michael Kelett of MTK Consulting during his tenure as the Structural Engineer and Project Management Consultant on our spalling refurbishment project at 1259 Pittwater Road Narrabeen.

Michael was originally engaged in 2013 to provide a review of the extent of Spalling and Remediation options of our complex comprising 44 residential units. Michael came highly recommended by the then Strata Manager and following provision of Michael's report we then engaged Michael to act as our consulting structural engineer and to undertake the tender and project management of the works.

Throughout the project, Michael went well beyond what is usually expected in assisting and guiding the Owners Corporation, being readily available to provide his technical expertise through a very difficult owners corporation liaison and information sessions.

The structure of the tender contract and the assessment process was handled extremely professionally in a very open and transparent manner. The methodical manner in the way that the investigation was carried out allowed the interaction with the Owners Corporation to discuss the level of allowances (low, medium or high) to be included in the specification. A conservative approach was undertaken by the Owners Corporation to minimise the potential for cost overruns.

The project was quite difficult and Michaels knowledge and innovation proved invaluable providing cost effective alternatives thereby allowing additional works to be implemented as part of the brief. The end project reflected negligible variations with the costs coming in under budget and most importantly without a need for a further levy to cover additional costs.

In summary Michael has proven to be a truly ethical, professional and committed Engineer and we have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone.
